Senior Living

Communities.

Starting in January 2022, I worked as one of two Graphic Designers building cohesive, luxury, print design for 15 corporate Assisted and Independent Living Communities dotting the East Coast. Projects range from event invitations, to weekly advertisements, to custom logo development. All resonating within the existing corporate brand and parent company guidelines.

Second Story Media.

During my final year of college, I worked as the Design Director for Second Story Media, a student-run advertising agency that works pro-bono for local non-profits in the Appalachian Mountains, NC. Through the position, I worked closely with clients crafting branding campaigns, logo animations, and marketing/ social media advertising. This opportunity has allowed me to develop a heightened sense of collaboration and enhance my communication skills.

One of the outstanding projects I was given to work on was Create-A-Thon. Create-A-Thon is a 24-hour branding marathon that takes place at numerous universities around the U.S. Appalachian State University became an affiliate of the event in 2019 and assigned planning and creative control to Second Story Media. I was given the role assignment of Co-Creative Manager, collaborating with Max Lichtfuss and Bryson Maynard to bring the event to life.

Girls on the Run.

My first project through Second Story Media, the non-profit, advertising agency I worked for, was branding and advertising Girls on the Run of the High Country’s fundraising event, Luck O’ the Lassie. A Saint Patrick’s Day-themed event aiming to raise funds for the non-profit. Girls on the Run is a national organization promoting self-empowerment and self-esteem in elementary and middle school girls. As the event is associated with alcohol we decided to leave the national logo out of the campaign and just use type to describe the organization.

As final deliverables, we created posters, shirts, tickets, invitations, and an event guidebook complete with budgeting and solicitation letters.

Walker Experience.

After being promoted to Co-Design Director with Jenna Sparacio at Second Story Media, I led a design team to brand a new study lab at Appalachian State University under the name Walker Experience. The Walker Experience strives to set up a student with the perfect guidelines to find and complete an internship or independent study before their graduation. As a free resource on campus, the Experience wanted a corporate yet modern logo to emphasize their path to success.
